Antique Baltic Amber Graduated Necklace with Pyrite Nuggets, Oyster Shell Heishi & Sterling
The Baltic region is home to the largest known deposit of Amber, called Baltic Amber, with about 80% of the world's known amber found here. It dates from between 35 to 40 million years ago. Sometimes referred to as “liquid gold,” Amber occurs in a range of colors. Our Amber has a glossy finish and is golden to dark brown in color, with extensive occlusions. The Nuggets are graduated, ranging in length from 18 to 34mm. We’ve integrated the Amber with Pyrite Nuggets, Oyster Shell Heishi, and handcrafted 14 and 16mm Stamped Sterling Rondelle Beads, adding sparkle and design interest. The Necklace is finished with Sterling Silver Rounds and Rondelles and a Sterling Toggle Clasp that has been decoratively stamped. The Necklace weighs 58 grams and is 28-1/2 inches long.
