I have always been impressed and inspired by the artisans of the American Southwest. When I first visited Santa Fe, New Mexico nearly 20 years ago, I was amazed at the endless array of stunning jewelry and art.  It was sold on street corners and from richly appointed shops, with intricate pieces appearing in either venue.  Sterling Silver and Turquoise were prominent, appearing in a myriad of designs, shapes and forms with each craftsperson defining their own method and legacy. The jewelry compelled you to touch it, to wear it.  When you did, you instantly felt connected to the Southwest’s vibrant culture, full of history, ingenuity, and unrelenting spirit.

Southwest Designs was born from this energy.  Jim and I were spending an increasing amount of time in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and were compelled to design and make our own Jewelry. We drew inspiration from the vast artistry around us, building a portfolio of increasingly sophisticated designs.  Today Jim is our resident Silversmith, handcrafting many of the pendants and precious metal beads used in our jewelry, including unique Mixed Sterling and Copper pieces. As Designer, I carry Jim’s work to the next stage, creating unique (and fabulous) Necklaces and Bracelets.

We believe that jewelry should stir your spirit and make you feel alive.  To this end, we continually seek out materials that are eye-catching and uncommon, then produce a design that showcases the featured elements. Each piece is painstakingly crafted and no two are identical.  We make Jewelry that is beautiful, bold, and expressive. Jewelry that is enlivening to wear.
