NECKLACES - CONTEMPORARY DESIGN
Southwest Designs Contemporary Jewelry evokes the spirit of artistry and creativity found in Southwest culture. I design these eye-catching pieces using uncommon and beautiful materials, each making a distinct statement. Design components may include Navajo-made Sterling Silver Beads, Turquoise from Nevada, Arizona & New Mexico mines, or Pendants & Findings meticulously crafted by gifted Native Americans and other Southwest Artisans.
No two pieces are identical. I begin the design process with one or two anchor elements -- a remarkable stone or pendant -- and combine these elements with complementary materials to create a singular piece of Jewelry Art. The following pages include a description of each Necklace; where possible I have included details pertaining to design concept, the origin of the stones, and/or the specific identity of the artisan. Some pendants are stamped or signed by the maker.
