We will be participating in a number of Events in 2010 and would love to see you there.  These events include Art Shows, Gallery Openings, Trunk Shows and Jewelry Receptions held in varied locales, We are also a Charter Member of a new not-for-profit art cooperative in Mesilla, New Mexico -- The Art Galaxy Co-op -- where Southwest Designs Jewelry is displayed for sale along with the work of 20 other local artists (please see the listing below). The Art Galaxy Co-Op, Mesilla, NM

The Art Galaxy Co-op is a cooperative of over 20 independant artists which share a common vision.  Located at 2521 Avenida de Mesilla, Caballero Plaza, in historic Mesilla, New Mexico, The Art Galaxy Co-op showcases Southwest Designs jewelry, other artists’ jewelry, paintings, photography, bronzes, mixed medium, gourd art, pottery and much more.  Please visit the Art Galaxy’s website at www.theartgalaxy.org. June 2010

• June 6th, 2010 (Sunday) -- SOWA Open Market, 460 Harrison Ave., Boston, MA. Now in it’s 7th season, this South End gem features an eclectic mix of local jewelers, antique collectors, bakers, mixed media artists and painters.  The show offers free parking and free admission, and runs from 10 am to 4 pm each Sunday through October 24th.  Southwest Designs will be participating in SOWA on June 6th, June 27th, July 18th, August 29th and September 19th (and maybe a few more dates!).  For more information and directions, visit www.sowaopenmarket.com.
• June 12th & 19th, 2010 -- Providence Open Market, Lippitt Memorial Park, Providence, RI.  The Providence Open Market, now in its 3rd season, is the city’s only open-air market where you can shop for handmade artisan goods and fine art.  Located in picturesque Lippitt Park, on the east side of Providence (at the juncture of Hope Street and Blackstone Boulevard) the Market is open from 10 am to 4 pm with free admission and free parking.  For further information and directions visit www.providenceopenmarket.com.

July 3, 2010 - The School Around Us 35th Annual Summer Craft Fair, Kennebunkport, ME. SAU Craft Fairs have a long history in Southern Maine and represent a wide variety of artists. This is a well-attended, successful Fair and we hope to see you there!  The July 3rd Fair will be held from 9 am to 4 pm on the Green in Kennebunkport. Directions:  Take I-95 to exit 25, Kennebunk.  Go left on Route 35; follow to the intersection with Route 9 east and make a left on Route 9. Cross the Kennebunk River and turn right at Dock Square. Follow Ocean Ave. for 5 blocks to the Green on your left.

August 2010

August 20-22 -- Bar Harbor Fine Arts Festival, Bar Harbor Inn, 7 Newport Drive, Bar Harbor, ME. Featuring some of the best national and international artists, with great Maine talent on exhibit.  This unique show in the beautiful heart of Bar Harbor's waterfront begins with a Friday afternoon artists preview during which the artists will be available for “up close and personal” meetings.  All work is original and created by the hands of the artists, and many different media will be offered for viewing and for sale.  Festival hours are: Friday, 6-8; Saturday 10-8 and Sunday 10-5.  For more info call (207) 244-9107.

September 25-26 - Milford Green 48th Annual Fall Show MTA&A, Milford, CT.  180 juried fine artists and unique handcrafters chosen and juried from throughout the country. Great variety of cuisines in the food court. Terrific demonstrating artists, soothing classical music, from 10am to 5pm each day.  MEET THE ARTISTS AND ARTISANS(MTA&A) shows directed by Denise morris Curt have received national awards including: 100 Best Events in North America for the Millennium by the National Bus Assoc.; Art Fair Sourcebook of Portland Oregon “worth traveling over 1000 miles to participate in” for Spring and Fall Meet the Artists and Artisan shows on the Milford Green. Top 100 Fine Art Shows in the U.S. by Sunshine Artists, only Connecticut show chosen in 2009.

November 6-7 -- Dona ana Arts Council’s Renaissance ArtsFaire is an annual event held at Young Park in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  Featuring approximately 180 artists’ booths, it is recognized as one of the finest art shows in the Southwest. Artist booths are supported by performances of music, dance, theater and a variety of food booths offering local fare, all presented in a Renaissance theme.  The show attracts 20,000+ visitors each year.
