Spiny Oyster Shell & Sterling Pendant Necklace with Five Strands of Mixed Coral & Sterling
Spiny Oyster shells are found in the Sea of Cortez, off the coast of Baja California, Mexico. The shells are prized for their brilliant colors and are often found in Native American jewelry. Our terrific Necklace showcases a Spiny Oyster Shell Pendant designed by Dan Dodson, an established Santa Fe artisan. The 3-1/4” x 2” Pendant (incl. 1” Bail) has a Vibrant Red Center Stone with Cream Streaks; it is surrounded by 15 perfectly matched Oval Stones set in Raised Bezels and separated by Sterling Drops. The Pendant has a full Sterling Back and heavy Sterling Bail with a Starburst Motif, and is stamped with the artist’s signature. The Necklace begins with a single strand of Sponge Coral Faceted Ovals, Swarovski Crystal and oversized Sterling Silver Urn Beads, then transitions to five strands of Mixed Coral & Sterling Silver. The piece is finished with a 99% Sterling Silver Toggle Clasp and Sterling Cones that repeat the Sunburst design. It is adorned with a Sterling Silver Kokopelli, a Native American icon that embodies the American Southwest. The Necklace weighs 150.3 grams and is 25-1/2” long.
