This exceptional Necklace showcases a Boulder Opal and Sterling Silver Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. Boulder Opal is millions of years old and is found in the Winton Formation in Queenstown, Australia. It is a mixture of Ironstone and Opal, either in a matrix pattern or layered. Our impressive Boulder Opal is a striking mixture of brown, purple, crystal and tan, with beautiful swirling patterns. The stone is large — about 1-3/4 inches square and 3/8 inches in height — and is set with 8 Sterling Prongs on a plate of Sterling Silver which has been cut to mirror the shape of the Stone. The Pendant drapes from a V-shaped Sterling Silver Bail. It is stamped on the back with the artist's hallmark and "Sterling." We've paired the Boulder Opal Pendant with 3 strands of 6mm Labradorite Rondelles, which are faceted and give off an attractive sparkle. The colors in the Labradorite are perfectly matched to the Boulder Opal, showing hues of purple, crystal and light brown. The Labradorite is complemented by 5mm Bronze Nugget Pearls and 10mm Sterling Silver Bench-Made Rounds, adding color depth and shine. At the top of the Necklace the Labradorite Rondelles transition to Nugget Pearls and Sterling Rounds, streamlining the silhouette. The Necklace is finished with a Sterling Silver Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 172 grams and the 3 Necklace strands are 19-3/4 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 3 inches by 2-1/8 inches includingi the 5/8-inch Bail (when wearing, a vertical hang length of about 10 inches).
