This outstanding Necklace showcases a Picture Jasper and Reticulated Silver Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. Reticulation is the process of heating Sterling Silver at high temperatures; the Copper alloy in the interior of the metal flows before the surface metal does, creating wonderful textures. This Pendant exemplifies texture, with striking swirls and patterns. The metal is thicker than traditional 20 gauge, as the molten Silver was splashed on a work surface to create the shape. The Silver has been oxidized to accentuate the design. The Pendant features a rectangular Picture Jasper stone, with the design "painted" in sandy tan and gray-blue. There are subtle horizontal layers of color, adding to the stone's appeal. The Pendant hangs from a custom Bail, also fashioned from Reticulated Silver. Truly a noteworthy piece.
We've paired the Pendant with 3 strands of 5mm Oxidized Sterling Silver Rounds, amplifying the glamour and shine. The Sterling Rounds are complemented by Fire Polished Glass in varied hues of blue and tan, picking up the colors in the Picture Jasper stone. The Glass is faceted and emits a subtle sparkle. At the top of the Necklace the 3 strands of Oxidized Sterling transition to 3 strands of 3mm Fire Polished Glass, streamlining the silhouette and ensuring wearer comfort. The Necklace is finished with Sterling Silver Cones and Wavy Sterling Toggle Clasp, and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 106 grams and is 18-1/2 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 4-1/8 inches by 1-1/2 inches including a 1-inch Bail (when wearing, a vertical hang length of about 9-1/2 inches).
