This terrific Necklace showcases four strands of vibrant Coral, highlighted by Vintage Mexican Coins. The Coral includes Bamboo Coral Graduated Chip (4-to-21mm), Sponge Coral 10mm Rounds, Apple Coral Graduated Rondelles (4-to-12mm), and Apple Coral Cubes (6-by-8mm). The Coral varies slightly in color, with the Coral Chip exhibiting salmon tones, while the Coral Rondelles are a bright orangey-red. Many of the stones also show subtle light brown and orange matrix, adding color depth and design interest. The Coral is integrated with dark brown Pen Shell Heishi and crystal Seed Beads, adding design interest and increasing the flexibility of the Necklace.
The nine Vintage Mexican Coins are a wonderful complement to the Coral, contributing subtle shine and great visual impact. The largest of the Coins – a 1960 Un Peso – is made from 90.3% Mexican Fine Silver, as are the four 10 Centavos Coins dated 1905 to 1906 (about the size of a U.S. dime). The four quarter-sized 10 Centavos Coins are dated 1936 to 1940 and are made from a Copper-Nickel metal. The Necklace is finished with Sterling Silver Rounds and Stamped Sterling Toggle Clasp, and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 216 grams and the Necklace strands are approximately 24 inches long, plus the Un Peso, which is 1-1/2 inches in diameter.
