This striking Blue African Pietersite and Sterling Silver Ring was handcrafted by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. Pietersite was discovered by Sid Pieters in 1962 while he was prospecting farmland in Nambibia, Africa. Pietersite is considered a type of Tiger Eye, and the only two known sources are Africa and China. African Pietersite is considered the most sought after due to its wide range of colors, including various blues, golds and reds that can appear together or alone. Blue is the rarest color, followed by red. Our stone displays both blue and gold tones with wonderful effect. The Pietersite cabochon is approximately 3/4-inch by 1-3/8 inches, and is wrapped in a Sterling Bezel. The Stone is set on a Sterling Silver Plate that mirrors the shape of the Stone. The Ring has an adjustable Sterling Silver Band, enabling a perfect fit. The back of the Ring is stamped with the artist's hallmark and "Sterling" (which is partially obscured by the Band). The piece weighs 24 grams and can be adjusted from size 7 to size 9+.
