This impressive Necklace features a Blue Vein Turquoise and Reticulated Silver Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. The Turquoise is cerulean blue with dark brown spider web matrix, creating a beautiful interplay of color. The stone was fashioned from a Blue Vein Turquoise Nugget; the top of the stone was smoothed but left with much of its original contours and texture, adding character to the design. The Turquoise has been wrapped in a handmade 1/4-inch tall Notched Sterling Bezel and placed in a distinctive setting of Reticulated Silver. The Silver swirls around the stone with wonderful ripples and texture and has the appearance of a radiant Sunburst. The Pendant drapes from a custom Wrapped Sterling Bail. We've paired the Blue Vein Turquoise Pendant with 3 strands of 5.5mm color-matched Turquoise Rounds. The Round shape is slightly irregular, giving the Turquoise a very artistic appearance. The Turquoise ils paired with vintage Bronze Czechoslovakian Nailheads, which pick up the darker tones in the Pendant. These stones are complemented by 3mm translucent gray Fire Polished Glass, which is faceted and gives off a subtle sparkle. The Turquoise is highlighted by ten 6mm Sterling Silver Box Beads, which add attractive shine. They are skillfully stamped with a small flower on each side. At the top of the Necklace the 3 strands of Turquoise transition to 3 strands of Fire Polished Glass, streamlining the silhouette for a comfortable fit. The Necklace is finished with Sterling Silver Rounds and Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 100 grams and Necklace is 20-1/2 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 2-7/8 inches by 2 inches including the 3/4-inch Bail (when wearing, a vertical length of about 10 inches).
*Reticulation is the process of heating Sterling Silver at high temperatures; the Copper alloy in the interior of the metal flows before the surface metal does, creating wonderful textures.
