This elegant Necklace features a Campitos Turquoise and Sterling Silver Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. Campitos Turquoise is mined in Cananea — a city in the northern Mexican state of Sonora — and is known for its vibrant, very-blue color and traces of pyrite, which give the stone luster and sparkle. Campitos is also unique in the way that it is mined; most turquoise is sourced from rock veins, deeply embedded in stone, while Campitos is found in deposits of clay where it develops into free-form, uniquely shaped nuggets. Our Campitos Turquoise stone is gracefully contoured and flecked with Pyrite, giving the Pendant a silvery sparkle. The Turquoise Nugget is approximately 1-3/8 inches tall by 1-inch wide, and is prong-set on a custom Sterling Silver 5-Post array, which hangs from a curved Sterling Bail. The Pendant is etched on the back spine with the artist's initials, "JWD." We've paired the Campitos Pendant with a strand of black Milky Way Turquoise Rounds, graduated from 7-to-16mm. The Milky Way is paired with 10mm blue Turquoise Rondelles, which mirror the tones in the Pendant. The Turquoise is complemented by two 14-by-29mm Kazuri Cylinders with fish markings; these Beads are handmade, hand painted ceramic beads from Nairobi, Kenya. The Turquoise and Kazuri Beads are highlighted by six 14mm Sterling Silver Tiered Bicones, adding subtle sparkle. The Necklace is finished with 6mm Sterling Silver Ridged Rounds and a Sterling Toggle Clasp, and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 179 grams and is 22-1/2 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 2-1/8 inches tall by 1-inch wide.
