This terrific Necklace showcases a Chrysocolla-Malachite and Sterling Silver Oval Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. Chrysocolla-Malachite is found in the oxidation zone of major copper deposits — an area where minerals are exposed to oxygen and water — and our gemstone comes from Arizona. It combines the greens of Malachite with the rich blues of Chrysocolla, creating striking patterns with complementary color hues. Our stone has vivid azure blue overlaid by swirling areas of green and some brown, creating a visually striking presentation. The stone is wrapped in raised Sterling Silver Bezel that is encircled by Sterling Silver Ball Wire, adding elegance to the design. It is soldered to Sterling Silver Plate that has been cut to mirror the shape of the stone. The piece drapes from a V-Shaped Sterling Silver Bail and is stamped on the back with the artist's hallmark and "Sterling."
We've paired the Pendant with 3 strands of Turquoise Rondelles whose colors are a virtual match to the Pendant stone. The Rondelles are 6mm in diameter and are beautifully cut and shaped. They are complemented by 8-by-9mm aqua Czech Glass Saucers, 4mm cerulean blue Apatite Rounds, 4mm bronze Vintage Czech Nailheads, and 4mm silver metallic faceted Glass Bicones. The elements add translucency, color depth and sparkle to the design. Each Turquoise Rondelle and Glass element is separated one from the next by 3mm Olive Shell Heishi, allowing the primary stones to be viewed more clearly and adding visual interest. At the top of the Necklace the 3 strands of Turquoise transition to 3 strands of Olive Shell Heishi, streamlining the silhouette and ensuring a comfortable fit. The Necklace is finished with Sterling Silver Rounds and Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 78 grams and is 20 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 2-3/8 inches by 1-3/16 inches including the 1/2-inch Bail (when wearing, a vertical length of about 10 inches).
