This eye-catching Necklace features a Dinosaur Bone and Sterling Silver Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. Dinosaur Bone comes from mineralized dinosaur fossils, where organic matter is replaced by minerals such as silica, calcite, carbonates and iron. If you look closely you will notice that each of the bone cells has become a small agate surrounded by the bone structure. There are a wide range of colors found in gem-quality Dinosaur Bone; our cabochon displays attractive coral-red, burgundy, black and gold. Petrified Dinosaur Bone cabochons have a hardness of 7 and take a high polish, which makes them ideal for use in Jewelry designs. Our teardrop-shaped Dinosaur Bone cabochon has been capped with a polished Sterling Silver Dome, which has been shaped to perfectly match the top of the stone. The Pendant has a loop at the top which is affixed to a custom Sterling Silver Bail. This is a wonderful addition to any gemstone or Jewelry collection. We've paired the Dinosaur Bone Pendant with 2 strands of 6mm Carnelian Rounds, in rich burgundy hues. The Carnelian is semi-translucent and pairs nicely with the glossy Pendant stone. The Carnelian is highlighted by 8mm Coral Rounds, 4mm translucent gray Czech Fire Polished Glass, and six 7-by-11mm Sterling Silver Box Beads stamped with Fish designs. At the top of the Necklace the Carnelian transitions to Fire Polished Glass, streamlining the silhouette. The piece is finished with Sterling Silver Cones and Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The Necklace weighs 62 grams and is 20-1/4 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 2-1/2 inches long by 5/8-inches wide, including the 1/2-inch Bail.
