This striking Necklace features a Dinosaur Bone and Sterling Silver Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. Dinosaur Bone comes from mineralized dinosaur fossils, where organic matter is replaced by minerals such as silica, calcite, carbonates and iron. If you look closely you will notice that each of the bone cells has become a small agate surrounded by the bone structure. There are a wide range of colors found in gem-quality Dinosaur Bone; our cabochon has a base of coral with flecks of black and tan. The Dinosaur Bone has been cut into a triangular shape and set in a raised Sterling Silver Bezel. The Bezel is wrapped with Sterling Ball Wire, and set on a polished plate of Sterling Silver. The Pendant has a custom Cylinder Bail, and is stamped on the back with a Sun symbol, the artist's hallmark and "Sterling." We've paired the Pendant with 5 Strands of 4mm Bamboo Coral Rounds, which mirror the tones in the Dinosaur Bone. The Coral is blended with 5mm Vintage Czechoslovakian Nailheads in bronze, and 7mm Smoky Quartz Rounds. These 2 elements are near black in color and work nicely with the dark tones in the Pendant. The Stones are highlighted by 5mm Sterling Silver Pumpkin Beads and 4mm Sterling Rounds, adding subtle sparkle. The Necklace is finished with Sterling cones and Sterling Toggle Clasp wrapped in Ball Wire. The piece is adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The Necklace weighs 103 grams and is 20 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 2-3/4 inches by 1-3/8 inches including the 1/2-inch Bail.
