This stylish Necklace features two strands of Bamboo Coral Nuggets paired with two strands of color-matched red White Heart Trade Beads.* The Coral is 6-by-9mm in dimension and has been end-drilled so that the beads are slightly offset, creating an attractive "flutter" look. The White Hearts are 7.5mm and are rondelle-shaped with a glossy finish. We've highlighted the Coral and White Hearts with 7mm Vintage Glass Pearls, 8mm Sterling Silver Bicones and 6-by-8mm Sterling Urn Beads, adding subtle sparkle and visual interest. At the top, the four strands evolve to a single strand of 14-by-17mm Flat-Sided Coral Nuggets, with the transition marked by similarly-sized Carnelian Agate Ovals. The Necklace is finished with a Sterling Silver Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Sterling Silver Gecko Charm, a lizard native to the US Southwest that symbolizes self-preservation and re-growth. The Necklace weighs 174 grams and is 24 inches long.
* White Hearts are 2-layer wound glass beads, with a translucent shell wrapped around a white glass core. Early White Hearts were made predominately in Venice and Bohemia and other European countries from the late 1400s through to the early 1900s, and traded in Africa and the Americas. The popularity of these beads was revived in the late 1960s when they began to be exported from Africa into the United States and Europe. These contemporary White Hearts were also termed Trade Beads and this reference is used widely today.
