This vivacious Bracelet features four strands of Red White Heart Trade Beads* interspersed with Vintage Glass and Sterling. The Glass is colored, shaped and polished to look like creamy-white Pearls; the Sterling is a mix of Bicones, Urn Beads and Dotted Wheel Spacers, adding contrast and sparkle. We’ve finished the Bracelet with a Sterling Silver Toggle Clasp and a Sterling Gecko Charm, a lizard native to the US Southwest that symbolizes self-preservation and re-growth. The Bracelet weighs 59 grams and is 8-1/2 inches long.
* White Hearts are 2-layer wound glass beads, with a translucent “shell” wrapped around a white glass core. The term "Trade Beads" typically applies to beads made predominately in Venice and Bohemia and other European countries from the late 1400s through to the early 1900s and traded in Africa and the Americas. The popularity of these beads was revived in the late 1960s when they began to be exported from Africa into the United States and Europe. The term "Trade Beads" became very popular during this time period and is still used for the same bead reference today.
