This classy piece is a veritable tour of the Southwest with Turquoise from the Fox and Tortoise Mines in Nevada, and the Kingman Mine in northwest Arizona. The Necklace features a striking Fox Turquoise and Sterling Silver Cross Pendant by Santa Fe artist David Umpleby. The Pendant has five Square-Cut Turquoise Stones, which are an attractive sky blue with gray matrix. The Stones are set in raised Sterling Bezels and decorated with nine handcrafted Sterling Silver Balls. The back of the Pendant is marked “Sterling, Made in Santa Fe,” and is stamped with the artist’s hallmark. A custom bail – attached at the back – ensures the pendant is front and center. We’ve matched the Cross with three strands of blue Tortoise Turquoise Nuggets, ranging in size from 8-to-11mm. The Turquoise is highlighted by a variety of Sterling Silver Beads, including: 9mm and 20mm Urn Beads, 6-by-8mm Coin Beads with Caps, and 9mm handcrafted “Navajo Pearls” by Native American artist Larry Pinto. At the top of the Necklace the Tortoise Nuggets transition to a single strand of 18mm Kingman Turquoise Nuggets, providing a contrast of texture and shape. The Necklace is finished with a Sterling Silver Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Sterling Silver Kokopelli, a Native American icon that embodies the American Southwest. This piece weighs 129 grams and is 23 inches long, plus the Pendant, which is 3 inches tall by 1-7/8 inches wide.
