This striking Necklace features an Indonesian Palm Wood and Sterling Silver Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. Indonesian Palm Wood is a petrified, tropical hardwood from Indonesia. The stone is an eye-catching combination of black and cream, divided down the center line with some color blurring in between. It has been polished to a glossy sheen. The Palm Wood is set in a raised Sterling Silver Bezel wrapped in Twisted Sterling Wire, and joined to a plate of Sterling Silver. The Silver has been cut to mirror the shape of the stone. The Pendant has a v-shaped Sterling Silver Bail and is stamped on the back with the artist's hallmark and "Sterling." We've paired the Indonesian Palm Wood Pendant with New Mexico Black Jet Ovals. Jet is a type of lignite, a precursor to coal, and is a gemstone. Jet is not a mineral, but rather a mineraloid, as it is a product of high-pressure decomposition of wood over millions of years. Our Jet was mined in Acoma, New Mexico. The Jet Ovals have a smooth silky finish and are graduated, ranging in length from 9mm to 20mm. The Ovals are complemented by glossy black Jasper Coin Beads, which are 8mm in diameter. The stones are highlighted by four 8mm handcrafted Ridged Sterling Rounds, which shine brightly against the black stones. The Necklace is finished with Sterling Silver Rounds and Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 90 grams and is 20-3/4 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 2-7/8 inches by 1-1/2 inches including the 1/2-inch Bail.
