This attractive Necklace showcases 2 Strands of Graduated Kingman Turquoise Heishi, ranging in diameter from 3mm to 10mm. Kingman Turquoise is from the Kingman (Mineral Park) mine in northwest Arizona, and the Kingman blue has become a color standard for the Turquoise industry. Each strand of the Necklace showcases a Jocla, a Pueblo Jewelry adornment. Traditionally, 2 loops of Heishi — originally earrings — were fastened to the bottom of a Necklace as a pendant-like attachment. Although Jaclas are attributed to Rio Grande Pueblo Indians they were traded with other tribes, so have become associated with the Navajos as well. Jacla is Navajo for "ear string." Our Jackla are made from Kingman Boulder Turquoise Heishi, highlighted by Bamboo Coral Nuggets and Ovals. At the top of each Jacla is a 16mm Stamped and Capped Sterling Silver Round, with a 7mm Sterling Rondelle capping the top and bottom openings of the larger bead. The Necklace Strands also incorporate Bamboo Coral Nuggets, and the Stones are highlighted by 8mm and 10mm Sterling Silver Bench-made Rounds. At the top of the Necklace the Kingman Turquoise Heishi transitions to Bamboo Coral Ovals, streamlining the profile and adding a pop of color. The Necklace is finished with Sterling Silver Cones and Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 110 grams and the 2 strands are 26-1/2" and 28-3/4" long, plus the Jaclas, which are 4-1/2 inches long.
