This good-looking Necklace displays an Obsidian and Sterling Silver Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass, and our Obsidian was discovered in the foothills above Mono Lake in Mono County, CA. The stone is a rich black and has been shaped into an oval that has been polished to a glossy sheen. The Obsidian is wrapped in a handcrafted Notched Bezel, and sits on Sterling Silver Plate that has been decorated with Sterling Silver Scrolls and 3 Sterling Balls. The piece has a custom V-Shaped Sterling Bail and is stamped on the back with the artist's hallmark and "Sterling." Striking and elegant. We've paired the Obsidian and Sterling Silver Pendant with 3 strands of Onyx Rondelles. The Onyx is near-round in shape, is midnight black, and is highly polished. The streamlined shape of the Onyx pairs beautifully with the ornate Pendant. The Necklace is finished with Sterling Silver Rounds and Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 109 grams and is 18-1/4 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 3-1/8 inches by 1-1/4 inches including the 5/8-inch Bail (when wearing, a vertical hang length of about 9 inches).
