This beautiful Necklace showcases an Obsidian and Sterling Silver Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. Obsidian is a volcanic glass formed when lava cools rapidly with minimal crystal growth. Our Obsidian was discovered near Mono Lake, CA, in the foothills of the Lake's surrounding mountains. The Stone is jet black and highly polished. It is encased in a Sterling Silver Bezel encircled by Twisted Sterling Silver Wire, and set on Sterling Silver Plate that has been decoratively stamped. The Pendant drapes from a V-shaped Cylinder Bail that has been stamped in a similar fashion. The piece is marked on the back with the artist's hallmark and "Sterling."
We've paired the Pendant with 2 Strands of 6mm black Onyx Rondelles. The Rondelles are ornamented with eight 6mm Oxidized Sterling Silver Rounds, mirroring the Pendant and adding attractive shine. The Sterling Rounds are flanked by metallic black Faceted Glass Rondelles, which sparkle in reflected light. At the top of the Necklace the 2 strands of Onyx transition to 2 strands of Faceted Glass Rondelles, streamlining the silhouette and ensuring wearer comfort. The Necklace is finished with Sterling Silver Rounds and Wavy Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 65 grams and is 18 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 2-5/8 inches by 1-1/4 inches including the 3/4-inch Bail.
