This eye-catching Necklace features a handcrafted Reticulated Silver and NuGold Bear Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. Reticulation is the process of heating Sterling Silver at high temperatures; the Copper alloy in the interior of the metal flows before the surface metal does, creating wonderful textures. The Bear was created by "splashing" molten Reticulated Silver on a work surface, allowing it to cool, then cutting the Silver to the desired dimensions. The Bear is 2-1/2 inches wide by 2 inches tall and is further adorned with a curved and flowing Arrow, symbolizing protection. The Arrow is made from NuGold, which is an alloy of copper and zinc that has the appearance of 14K yellow gold. The contrasting effect of these elements — the bright sheen of the Arrow against the textured Silver — is quite striking. The Bear has a matching Reticulated Silver Bail, and is stamped on the back with the artist's hallmark. We've paired the Bear Pendant with 2 strands of golden-bronze Keshi Pearls, ranging from 12-to-20mm in length. The Keshi Pearls are slightly iridescent, flashing glints of gold, and have varied shapes and textures. The Pearls are complemented by 3mm and 4mm translucent gray Fire Polished Glass, and by fourteen 6-by-4mm Hill Tribe Silver Stamped Rondelles. At the top of the Necklace the 2 Strands of Keshi Pearls transition to 2 strands of 4mm Sterling Silver Rounds, streamlining the silhouette and ensuring wearer comfort. The Necklace is finished with a Wavy Sterling Silver Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 156 grams and is 19-1/2 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 2-1/2 inches by 2-3/8 inches including the 3/8-inch Bail (when wearing, a vertical hang length of about 8 inches).
