This appealing Necklace showcases a Sonora Sunset and Sterling Silver Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. Sonora Sunset was discovered in 2008 in the Milpillas Copper Mine in Sonora, Mexico; the Stone was mined in limited quantities and is becoming increasingly rare on the market today. The unusual color combination of red (Cuprite), green (Chrysocolla) and black (Iron) makes it desirable for use in jewelry design, and our Sonora Sunset Stone is no exception. The Stone is set in a raised Sterling Silver Bezel on a plate of Sterling Silver that has been cut in the shape of an oval. The Sterling plate has been stamped with linear markings and polished to a fine sheen. The Pendant has a custom Cylinder Bail, and is stamped on the back with the Artist's hallmark and "Sterling." We've paired the Sonora Sunset and Sterling Pendant with 3 strands of Bamboo Coral Ovals. The Ovals are 4-by-8mm in dimension and are a vivid coral-red. The Coral is highlighted by 4mm blue-green Moss Agate Rounds, and 8mm Sterling Silver Bicones. These elements mirror the tones in the Pendant, and the Bicones add subtle sparkle. The Necklace is finished with Sterling Rounds and a rope-trimmed Sterling Toggle Clasp, and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 62 grams and is 22-1/2 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 2 inches by 1 inch including the 1/4-inch Bail.
