This terrific Necklace showcases a Turquoise and Sterling Silver Thunderbird Pendant by Santa Fe Silversmith Dan Dodson. The Thunderbird is gracefully shaped with spread wings and tail feathers. Both the wings and tail are ornamented with geometric stamping that has been oxidized to display the patterns in high relief. The Thunderbird 's head is turned to one side and graced with an oval eye. The Pendant features a center Turquoise Oval, wrapped in a raised Sterling Silver Bezel. The stone is ringed by half-circles, creating the appearance of a flower. It is rich turquoise-green with a small fleck of golden brown matrix. The Thunderbird drapes from a Sterling Silver Ring Bail and is stamped on the back with "Sterling."
We've matched the Thunderbird with 2 strands of Turquoise Disc. The Disc is color-matched to the Pendant stone with attractive variation in hue, alternating from sky blue to light green to olive green. The disc is graduated, ranging from 6-to-12mm in dimension. There are differences in the height, or thickness, of the Disc, giving the Necklace an appealing and artistic vibe. The Turquoise is smooth to the touch and polished to a glossy sheen.
