This terrific Necklace showcases four strands of vibrant Coral, each a different shape and/or variety. The Coral includes Vintage Bamboo Coral Graduated Chip – ranging in length from 4-to-21mm – Sponge Coral 10mm Rounds, Apple Coral Graduated Rondelles (4-to-12mm), and Apple Coral Cubes (6-by-8mm). The Coral varies just slightly in color, with the Vintage Coral Chip exhibiting salmon tones, while the Coral Rondelles are a bright orangey-red. Many of the stones also show subtle light brown and orange matrix, adding to the color depth and design interest. On three of the Coral strands we have integrated the individual stones with dark brown Pen Shell Heishi and crystal Seed Beads. These small elements create space between the coral rounds, cubes and rondelles, adding dimension to the stones while also increasing the Necklace flexibility. The Coral is highlighted by nine Mexican Coins, ranging in size from 18mm to 35mm. The largest of the Coins – a 1960 Un Peso – is made from 90.3% Mexican Fine Silver, as are the four 10 Centavos Coins dated 1905 to 1906 (about the size of a U.S. dime). The four quarter-sized 10 Centavos Coins are dated 1936 to 1940 and are made from a Copper-Nickel metal. The Coins have a subtle shine and add an attractive element to the Necklace, along with a bit of Mexican history. The Necklace is finished with Sterling Silver Rounds and a Hammered Sterling Toggle Clasp, and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 216 grams and the Necklace strands are approximately 24 inches long, plus the Un Peso, which is 1-1/2 inches in diameter.
