This terrific Necklace showcases a Mono Lake Obsidian and Sterling Silver Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. The Obsidian was rock hounded in the foothills of the mountains surrounding Mono Lake in Mono County, CA.  Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass; it is completely black with a high-polish shine. This stone has been shaped into a rectangle, wrapped in Sterling Silver Bezel, and set on Sterling Silver Plate that has been attractively stamped. The Pendant drapes from a Sterling Silver Cylinder Bail, and is marked on the back with the artist's hallmark and "Sterling."

We've paired the Pendant with 2 Strands of Black Onyx Rondelles. The Rondelles are 4-by-6mm in dimension with a glossy shine. The Onyx is complemented by forty-two 5mm Oxidized Sterling Silver Rounds, which add attractive shine to the design. The Sterling is arranged in alternating groups of three, creating design symmetry from the Pendant to the top of the Onyx strands. The Onyx Rondelles transition to 4mm Black Onyx Rounds at the top of the Necklace, streamlining the silhouette and ensuring a comfortable fit. The Necklace is finished with Sterling Rounds and Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 70 grams and is 19-5/8 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 2-1/2 inches by 1-1/8 inches including the 1/4-inch Bail.
